Hoffman holds on for win at Streamwood

Nora Thomas was clutch for Hoffman Estates' girls basketball team on Wednesday night at Streamwood.

The Hawks' 5 -foot-4 sophomore guard connected for back-to-back 3-pointers in the final two minutes which gave the Hawks a 5-point lead and they held on for a 43-41 nonconference triumph over the Sabres.

Raven Wilson, a 6-foot-2 junior center who had a huge putback bucket with 30 seconds left in the game, led Hoffman (6-12) with a double-double of 15 points and 15 rebounds.

Senior guard Tayler Williams contributed 12 points with three 3-pointers while Thomas finished with 11 points and three 3-pointers. Junior Alyssa Dupart also hit a 3-pointer for Hoffman.

"My girls played with great composure down the stretch," said Hawks coach Mike Koester. "And we played with a 'can't lose' attitude."
