Burlington Central, Aurora Christian will play for titles

Patrick Mayfield hit for 23 points and Zach Schutta added 16 as the Burlington Central boys basketball team defeated Streator 67-43 Friday night to advance to the championship game of the Plano Christmas Classic.

Dejsano Beamon added 11 points for the top-seeded Rockets (9-2), who will play Peoria Notre Dame at 8 p.m. Saturday for the championship.

Aurora Christian 49, Winnebago 44: The Eagles (12-0) advanced to the championship game of the State Farm Classic in Bloomington behind 17 points from Jake Wolfe and 12 each from Taaj Davis and Will Wolfe.

St. Charles East 61, Rockford Auburn 35: The Saints hit 12 3-pointers to win this game at the Hinsdale Central Holiday Classic and advance to Saturday's fifth place game against Maine South. Nate Ortiz led the way for SCE (9-4) with 21 points while Zach Robinson and Justin Hardy added 14 each.

St. Edward 65, Eisenhower 56: AJ Franklin hit 12 of 13 from the free-throw line en route to 28 points and a consolation championship win at the ICCP/Westmont tournament. Daniel Parks (13 points), Reno Domel (12) and Dylan Mlinarich (10) finished in double figures for the Green Wave (12-3).

Richmond-Burton 56, Harvest Christian 50: Jack Nohava and Dylan Lockwood had 17 points each for Harvest Christian (8-4) in the third place game of the E.C. Nichols Tournament at Marengo.

Harlem 58, Hampshire 53: J.D. Shaw scored 19 points for Hampshire (2-9) at the Dayton Classic in DeKalb. Marcus Lazar added 11 points for the Whip-Purs.

South Elgin 65, DeKalb 59: Vince Miszkiewic had 21 points and 9 rebounds for South Elgin (8-3), which will play Upstate Eight Valley foe West Chicago for fifth place at the Dayton on Saturday. Trace Ashby added 11 points for the Storm and Drake Montgomery had 10.

Chicago Vocational 55, Huntley 52: Davis Pasco led Huntley (2-9) with 22 points in this Dayton Classic game.

Marmion 61, Chicago Douglass 38: Mick Sullivan scored 17 points and had 17 rebounds for the Cadets (7-8), who will play for the Dayton consolation title Saturday.

Notre Dame 61, Dundee-Crown 47: Jack Orndahl (14 points), Gabe Bergeron (13) and Brad Stec (10) led the Chargers (6-6) at the Wheeling Hardwood Classic.

Fenwick 68, Larkin 43: Anthony Lynch posted 19 points and 6 rebounds for the Royals (7-4), who shot just 32.7 percent from the field at the Proviso West Holiday Tournament.
