Mundelein rolls at Grant
Morgan Frank scored 20 points, and Mundelein's girls basketball team beat Waukegan 69-24 Thursday night for its first win in the Grant tournament.
Kendall Klatt added 13 points for the Mustangs (4-10), who play their final tourney game at 5:30 p.m. Friday against North Chicago.
Maine South 49, Stevenson 48: At Dundee-Crown, the Patriots suffered their second loss in as many days in the Komaromy Classic.
Klaire Steffens had 17 points for Stevenson (10-5, 1-2 tourney), which also got 13 points and 6 rebounds from Avery King and 11 points from Kiana Cencula (three 3-pointers).
The Patriots finish the tournament Friday at 3:30 p.m. against New Trier.
Lake Forest 37, Grayslake Central 33: At Warren, sophomore guard Halle Douglass scored 6 of her 14 points in the fourth quarter, as the Scouts improved to 3-0 in the Blue Devil Classic, while handing the Rams their first loss in the tournament.
Kate Bullman scored 15 points to pace Grayslake Central (9-6, 2-1 tourney), which lost for just the second time in their last nine games.
Walther Christian 45, Antioch 32: At Lisle, the Sequoits couldn't sustain a strong start and lost on Day 2 of the Cage Classic.
Piper Foote had 15 points, including four 3-pointers, for Antioch (3-9, 1-1 tourney), which led 26-25 at halftime but was outscored 8-1 in the third quarter and 12-5 in the fourth.
The loss snapped the Sequoits' three-game winning streak. Taylor Feltner scored 9 points and Rachel Phillips grabbed 9 rebounds.
Antioch plays host Lisle at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
Lake Zurich 45, St. Joseph 30: At Montini, McKenna Zobel scored 16 points to lead the Bears, who improved to 1-1 in the tournament and snapped a three-game losing streak.
Lake Zurich (9-7) will play Evanston at 1:15 p.m. Friday.
