Kaneland wins twice at Decatur

Kaneland's girls basketball team won two games Wednesday at the Decatur Eisenhower Tournament.

The Knights (13-2) defeated Decatur MacArthur 54-41 led by Jenny Weber with 20 points and Jamie Martens with 13.

Kaneland also defeated Springfield Southeast 49-40. Both Keely Noel and Kelsey Modaff set career highs with 15 points.

Harvest Christian 66, Chicago Christian 28: Alyssa Iverson led the Lions (11-3) with 23 points in their opener at the Lisle Holiday Cage Classic. Maddy Martin and Grace Ringel each added 12 points.

St. Edward 47, Lisle 32: At the Lisle Holiday Cage Classic, the Green Wave (8-3) made it eight straight wins behind Yssa Sto. Domingo with 13 points. Mallory Rejman added 8 points and Mariel Franco and Madison Knott both scored 7.

Rosary 48, Coal City 42: Zoe Ketterman filled up the stat sheet with 18 points, 10 rebounds, 3 blocked shots and 2 steals for the Royals (10-3) at the Lisle Holiday Cage Classic Sydney Drozdowski finished with 13 points and 7 rebounds, and Sophia Kramer added 9 points and 5 steals.

Hampshire 39, South Elgin 32: The Whip-Purs (6-9) outscored the Storm 17-9 in the first quarter on the way to a 7-point win at Dundee-Crown's Komaromy Classic.

Whip-Purs junior Ally Cermak made four 3-point baskets and scored 14 points. Freshman Kelby Bannerman also tallied 14 points. Megan McClure led South Elgin (4-6) with 11 points and Catora Brown added 8.

West Aurora 50, Glenbrook South 42: The fifth-seeded Blackhawks (10-3) advanced to the semifinals of the Falcon Classic by beating No. 4 Glenbrook South. Next up is No. 1 Wheaton North at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Glenbard South 53, Bartlett 36: The Hawks (7-6) lost in the quarterfinals at Wheaton North and will play Palatine on Thursday.

St. Charles East 42, Elgin 26: The Saints (6-8) bounced back from an overtime loss the previous day behind 12 points from Sara Rosenfeldt and 10 from Nicole Jordan at the Falcon Classic. Kylie Graves led Elgin (0-15) with 10 points.

Hinsdale Central 49, Jacobs 32: Also at the Falcon Classic, Jacobs (4-8) lost its second straight. Elizabeth Schwartz and Kyra Cabusao both scored 11 points.

Burlington Central 54, LaSalle-Peru 23: The Rockets (11-1) got off to a good start at the Dixon Holiday Tournament, leading 17-1 after the first quarter. Kathryn Schmidt scored 21 points, Elana Wells had 12, Lily Moretti 8 and Mackenzie West 7.

Vernon Hills 57, Streamwood 49: The Sabres (3-10) lost their second straight at the Libertyville tournament. Maddi Exline and Monica Brown both finished with 12 points.

Montini 75, Huntley 25: The Red Raiders (1-10) lost at the hosts of the Montini Christmas Tournament. Huntley freshman Kamsi Nwogu scored 11 points.
