St. Edward moves to 5-0 in MSC Red

Mariel Franco led a balanced St. Edward scoring attack Thursday night with 10 points as the Green Wave's girls basketball team defeated Elmwood Park 51-27 in a Metro Suburban Red game.

The Wave moved to 6-3 on the season and 5-0 in the conference with the win.

St. Charles North 52, Elgin 19: Anna Davern had 16 points to lead the North Stars (6-4, 2-2) to this Upstate Eight River win. Megan Gunnink added 10 points and Annie Tate had 8 for SCN. Sabrina Chen led Elgin (0-11, 0-5) with 8 points while Sarah Moskow had 7 and Kylie Graves pulled down 10 rebounds.

Burlington Central 68, Harvard 15: The Rockets bounced back from their first loss of the season with this Kishwaukee River rout. Elana Wells led the way with 13 points, Kathryn Schmidt had 12, Lily Moretti 9 and Alexandra Lichner 8.
