Douglass, Lake Forest rally past Libertyville

Halle Douglass scored 9 of her game-high 15 points in the fourth quarter, as host Lake Forest rallied to beat Libertyville 35-33 in North Suburban Conference girls basketball action Thursday night.

Margaret Buchert scored 12 points for Libertyville (5-6, 2-3), which led 15-4 after one quarter, 17-15 at halftime and 26-21 after three. Lauren Huber had a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Wildcats, while Maddie Spaulding grabbed 10 rebounds as well.

"This was a defensive battle," Libertyville coach Greg Pedersen said. "Our fierceness was great to see against a talented Lake Forest team."

Lake Forest improved to 4-1 in the NSC and pulled into a first-place tie with Lake Zurich and Warren. Stevenson is a half game back at 3-1.
