Libertyville's Peterson reaches milestone in setback against Evanston

Libertyville's boys basketball team wrapped up tournament play at St. Viator with an 85-75 loss to Evanston on Saturday.

Wildcats senior forward Drew Peterson eclipsed the career 1,000-point mark in the decision with another big performance.

Peterson finished with a season- and game-high 35 points, converting on 13 of 19 field goal attempts, including 3-for-7 from 3-point range. He also finished 6-for-6 at the foul line.

Josh Steinhaus had four 3s and finished with 14 points as Libertyville finished 1-3 in the tournament.

Jaheim Holden (26 points), Lance Jones (23) and Blake Peters (19) led the scoring for Evanston.

Glenbrook South 41, Grayslake Central 40: The Rams went scoreless in the third quarter, then roared back with a 19-point effort in the fourth before coming up short by a single point in tournament play at Buffalo Grove.

Junior guard Chris Thomas paced the Rams with 13 points, which included three 3s, and senior forward Jack Spalding had 10 points.

Warren 67, Elk Grove 50: The Blue Devils handled the Grens to finish 3-2 and in fourth place at Mundelein, while Elk Grove finished 0-5 in the six-team round robing format.
