Winning record for St. Viator this time

After going 0-5 at the Schaumburg Thanksgiving tournament one year ago, St. Viator's girls basketball team came back with a 3-2 record this season.

The Class 3A Lions won their third straight game over a Class 4A team on Friday, defeating Evanston 61-57 on the final day of the long-running six-team round robin.

Leading the way all-tourney selection Myia Clark, who scored a season-high 23 points to go along with 6 rebounds and 2 assists.

Senior Olivia Solimene added 15 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist while senior Maddie Fitzpatrick had 9 points, 3 rebounds for the Lions.

Maine West 77, Hampshire 17: Maine West, which had 21 steals, rolled to its fourth straight win over the Whip-Purs (1-3) at the Hoffman Estates tournament.

The Warriors will try for a perfect 5-0 record on Saturday when they face Lake Park (4-0) at 6 p.m.

West sophomore Angela Dugalic produced a career-high 19 points with 7 rebounds. Allison Pearson was 3-of-3 from 3-point range and finished with 11 points while Alisa Fallon added 11 points with 5 assists.

Wheaton Warrenville South 45, Schaumburg 20: Kendall Fredrickson led the Saxons (0-4) with 5 points while Emma Aguilar, Mady Vodicka and Vicky Aguirre each had 4 in Schaumburg's final game of its own tourney.

Harlem 55, Barrington 42: Barrington (1-3) was led by Taylor Thompson's 14 points, 10 coming in the second half in the Fillies' penultimate game of the Bison Classic at Buffalo Grove. Anna Mae King and Tori Meyer (two 3-pointers) each chipped in 10 points.
