The Tigers senior guard poured in a personal-high 30 points, hitting a school-record eight 3-pointers, in WW South’s 72-56 win over Hillcrest on Saturday at the McDonald’s Shootout. Bisso, who shot 8 of 14 from 3-point range, broke Grace Delaney’s record of 7 in a game from the 2006-07 season.
Morgan has delivered more this season. The junior center’s breakout season continued in a 38-35 win over Hampshire, as she accounted for more than half of the Rams’ points. She scored a career-high 22 points, grabbed 16 rebounds and recorded 4 blocked shots. She also netted the go-ahead basket in the final minute.
The Saxons senior guard controlled the tempo of the game with her ball-handling skills and scored a game-high 20 points (3 rebounds, 2 assists) to help spark a 46-37 win over four-time defending Mid-Suburban West champion Fremd. Kelly also made 10-of-12 free throws.
The senior scored a season-high 22 points, leading Rosary to a 51-47 victory over St. Edward. Tate followed with 22 more points against Aurora Christian as the Royals won both games to push their record to 2 games over .500.
The Warriors’ freshman had a big hand in two Westminster wins that also produced championships. She scored 18 points and had 4 rebounds in a 62-30 win over Elgin that secured the Elgin City Classic title for the Warriors, then came back with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals in a 49-32 win over Christian Liberty that secured the Northeastern Athletic Conference crown, Westminster’s first conference championship in any girls sport.
