'Game's Afoot' at Naperville Central theater

Naperville Central High School is set to showcase its spring play, "The Game's Afoot," during three shows at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 8-10.

The show, directed by theater club sponsor Susan Johnson and student director Abby Peterson, is a whodunit set during the Christmas holidays in 1936.

The show takes place when Broadway star William Gillette, admired for his leading role in the play "Sherlock Holmes," invites his fellow cast members to a castle in Connecticut for a weekend of partying.

When one of the guests is found stabbed to death, the isolated house of tricks and mirrors turns dangerous. Then it is up to Gillette, assuming the persona of his beloved Holmes, to track down the killer.

Performances will take place in the auditorium at the school, 440 Aurora Ave., Naperville. Tickets are $5 at the door.
