Daily Herald report

The Geneva High School girls basketball squad brought home the prize Sunday.

The day after grabbing their first state title, the Vikings returned home to a rousing welcome from loyal fans.

On Saturday night, the team triumphed over Edwardsville in the Class 4A state championship in Normal by the thinnest of margins, 41-40, at Redbird Arena. The winning bucket was scored by junior Stephanie Hart with just 3.2 seconds left on the clock.
