Geneva's state champs return to glorious welcome

The Geneva High School girls basketball squad brought home the prize Sunday.

The day after grabbing their first state title, the Vikings returned home to a rousing welcome from loyal fans.

On Saturday night, the team triumphed over Edwardsville in the Class 4A state championship in Normal by the thinnest of margins, 41-40, at Redbird Arena. The winning bucket was scored by junior Stephanie Hart with just 3.2 seconds left on the clock.
