Hampshire's Dumoulin in Queen of Hill finals

NORMAL - Hampshire senior Rachel Dumoulin will get a chance to become Queen of the Hill on Saturday.

Dumoulin made 11 of her 15 3-point attempts at Redbird Arena Friday night to win the Class 4A competition in the IHSA's annual 3-point showdown.

Dumoulin, who won a tiebreaker shootout 9-8 on Thursday to advance to the final round, shot first on Friday and then waited it out as the other three competitors shot. Warren's Jordyn Hughes came closest with 9 of 15.

On Saturday, Dumoulin will go against Class 1A champion Kassidy Walters of Greenfield, Class 2A champ Madisyn Fischer of Peoria Christian and Class 3A champ Maggie Bair of Glenbard South, for the Queen of the Hill title.

The finals are set for approximately 12:30 p.m. and will be televised live on Comcast SportsNet Plus.
