Bens, Kutsor help Lake Zurich snap three-game skid

Michael Bens and Ryan Kutsor each scored 13 points, and Lake Zurich's boys basketball team beat host Mundelein 60-36 Wednesday night to snap a season-high three-game losing streak.

Peter DiCerbo added 11 points for Lake Zurich (18-11), which completed North Suburban Conference play with a 5-9 record. Bens sank three 3-pointers.

It was the regular-season finale for both teams.

"I thought we played very well," Bears coach Billy Pitcher said. "I was very proud of our guys and how they competed, from top to bottom, for 32 minutes. All 18 guys on our team got in the game and 11 players scored."

Seniors Luke Kuhn and Danny "The Hawk" Carlson had great games off the bench and both hit 3s, Pitcher said. DiCerbo, Joe Heffernan and Brett Hensley) all took charges.

Jeff Bikus' 11 points paced Mundelein (4-25, 0-14), which also got 9 points from James Willman and 8 from Tommy Marcotte.

Waukegan 55, Lake Forest 47: The Bulldogs stayed hot, completing North Suburban action with a win at The Dog Pound.

Waukegan improved to 18-8 and finished 10-4 in the NSC.

Justin McMahon scored 17 points to lead Lake Forest (11-15, 7-7).
