Prospect powers past Lyons
Prospect's boys basketball team stayed hot on Saturday in claiming a 69-47 victory over Lyons Township in nonconference play.
The Knights (19-4) came up with 22 assists on their 24 field goals.
They made nine 3s in the first half and seven in the second half; Michael Ritchie led the way in scoring with 20 points.
"We're in a really good place right now," said Prospect coach John Camardella. "Everyone is playing at a very high level for us."
Senior forward Matt Szuba pulled within striking distance of the program's record for career rebounds; Camardella says he'll have a chance to break it Friday in Mid-Suburban East play against Elk Grove.
Prospect won its ninth straight and has not yet lost in 2017.
Buffalo Grove 51, Highland Park 42: The Bison improved to 14-8 with a nonconference victory at home to complete a 2-win weekend.
Mac Camardo scored 17 points to lead Buffalo Grove, and Colin Calcagno made four 3s for the second night in a row and finished with 14 points.
Ziv Tal scored 20 points to lead all scorers for Highland Park.
