Stevenson takes 2-game lead in NSC
Stevenson's girls basketball team bounced back from its first North Suburban Conference loss last week with a 36-30 victory over host Lake Forest on Tuesday.
Madison Wicklund scored 11 points to lead the Patriots (17-5, 9-1), who hold a 2-game lead over Warren in the NSC race.
Ashley Richardson finished with 9 points, hitting 4 of 5 free throws in the fourth quarter, and Kiana Cencula had 8 (two 3-pointers) for Stevenson.
Lake Forest, which got a game-high 13 points from Halle Douglass, dropped to 18-8 overall and 7-3 in the league.
Lake Zurich 67, Waukegan 22: The host Bears built a 38-7 lead by halftime of the North Suburban game.
Grace Kinsey and McKenna Zobel had 11 and 8 points, respectively, for Lake Zurich (10-12, 6-4).
Carmel 41, Resurrection 36: Daija Pruitt scored 12 and Katie Lach added 10 for the host Corsairs in the nonconference game.
Carmel (14-9) also got 9 points from Ranya Jamison.
Mundelein 37, Zion-Benton 35: Morgan Frank scored 14 points, Sarah Ouimet added 11, and the visiting Mustangs pulled out the North Suburban game.
Kendall Wald had 8 points, including two 3-pointers, for Mundelein (11-14, 3-7). The Mustangs led 10-6 after one quarter, 23-15 at halftime and 33-27 after three.
Grant 69, Marian Central 53: On Monday night, Ally Mahinay scored a career- and game-high 25 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead the visiting Bulldogs (9-14) to the nonconference win.
