Hampshire hanging tough in FVC race
Rachel Dumoulin scored 14 points Saturday to lead the Hampshire girls basketball team to a 43-25 Fox Valley Conference win over Crystal Lake Central.
Lauren Herrmann added 13 points for the Whip-Purs (13-8, 8-3), who stayed one game behind Huntley in the race for the FVC lead.
St. Edward 62, Chicago Christian 41: Maddie Spagnola had 19 points and Yso Sto. Domingo added 12 as the Green Wave (19-5) win this Metro Suburban crossover on the road. Madison Knott added 9 points for St. Edward.
Aurora Christian 50, Indian Creek 40: Tori Henning put up 20 points as Aurora Christian prevailed in this nonconference game. Alex Fry added 9 points and Paris Chaney had 8 for the Eagles (15-6).
CL South 49, Prairie Ridge 37: In the FVC, Taylor Jozefowicz had 18 points and Anna Sevcik for Crystal Lake South (10-10, 6-4).
Kaneland 41, Ottawa 14: Bryanna Kigyos led Kaneland with 10 points in this Northern Illinois Big 12 crossover win. Jenni Weber added 9 points and Jamie Martens had 8 for the Knights (17-4).
Harvest Christian 55, Wheaton Academy 46: Alyssa Iverson had a career-high 31 points to lead the Lions (19-3) to this nonconference win. Gracie Ozburn added 9 points and 11 rebounds for Harvest and Isamar Garcia had 9 points.
