West Aurora, South Elgin win twice

West Aurora completed a 3-1 record at Rockton Hononegah's MLK Tournament with two wins Monday.

The Blackhawks (13-4) beat Normal West 59-37. Caleb Siler scored 20 points and Jared Crutcher had 18.

West Aurora had a much tougher test from Normal, winning 59-56. Siler scored 21 points, and Camron Donatlan and DaQuan Cross both had 12.

South Elgin wins twice: South Elgin defeated Belvidere and Johnsburg on Monday at Rockford Jefferson's MLK Tournament to run its winning streak to four games.

The Storm (12-6) started with a 47-44 win over Belvidere. Collin Uvegas scored 12 points and Vincent Miszkiewicz had 9.

In a 73-65 victory over Johnsburg, Logan Atkins made five 3-pointers and scored 21 points. Noah Rohr and Miszkiewicz both added 12 points.

Batavia goes 1-1: Batavia (11-10) split a pair of games Monday at the MLK Tournament at Rockford Jefferson, beating Guilford 74-42 and losing 57-46 to Guilford.

The Bulldogs scored 28 points in the first quarter against Guilford and never looked back. Fourteen players scored for Batavia led by Colin Cheaney with 14 and Jayden Johnson had 12.

In the loss to Boylan, Eric Peterson led Batavia with 10 points.

Larkin 67, Harlem 54: Also at Rockford Jefferson, the Royals (11-10) won behind Anthony Lynch (16 points), Kashmir Ivy (15) Jalen Shaw (14) and Pierre Black (10).

Aurora Central Catholic 58, Phillips 45: At the MLK Shootout at Malcom X College on Sunday, the Chargers improved to 13-3 behind 30 points from Brett Czerak, Mac Cowen's 13 and 8 from Dylan Baker.
