Palatine tops Niles North in OT finale at Lake Zurich

Cortez Hogans and Johnny O'Shea finished with 18 points apiece as Palatine concluded its run in Lake Zurich's MLK tournament with a 70-58 overtime victory against Niles North in a matchup of second-place pool finishers.

The Pirates actually had their best scoring total in the overtime session, producing 17 points in that mini-period.

Jake Moertl finished with 15 points, which included a pair of 3s, and junior Lamon Berry had 7 points.

The Pirates trailed 32-21 at the half after yielding 20 first-quarter points to Niles North. But Palatine scored 16 points in both the third and fourth quarters and held Niles North to 5 points in the OT.

Palatine finished 4-1 in the tournament and improved to 7-14 overall.
