Erika Gallimore's 11 points and 5 rebounds paced a balanced attack, as Antioch's girls basketball team beat Chicago Christian 53-24 Wednesday night to improve to 2-0 in Lisle's Holiday Cage Classic.
Ashley Reiser added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for Antioch (9-2). Taylor Feltner grabbed 7 rebounds, and Amy Reiser scored 8 points.
The Sequoits will play either Illiana Christian or Rosary at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Libertyville 42, Conant 35: At Libertyville, the Wildcats improved to 3-0 in their own tournament.
Riley Weis led Libertyville (8-7) with 11 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Morgan Manski also hit two 3s and scored 8 of her 10 points in the first quarter. Caroline Frea finished with 8 points and 6 rebounds, and Zi Tompkins grabbed 8 rebounds for the Wildcats, who conclude the tournament against Vernon Hills at 1 p.m. Thursday.
"We finished this game down the stretch with some key baskets and free throws in the fourth quarter," Libertyville coach Greg Pedersen said. "That was great to see."
Conant's Jorie Wachal led all scorers with 19 points. The Cougars play Streamwood in their tourney finale at 10 a.m. Thursday.
Cary-Grove 54, Vernon Hills 38: At Libertyville, Kayla Caudle scored 15 points for the Cougars, who dropped their first game in the tournament.
Becky Bahlmann and Katie Burrows had 8 and 7 points, respectively, for Vernon Hills (7-8, 2-1 tourney).
"We struggled to score for a stretch and that got us down," Cougars coach Paul Brettner said. "We fought back, but Cary-Grove is a tough team to come back against. I like our intensity and our competitiveness."
Vernon Hills wraps up the tourney against Libertyville at 1 p.m. Thursday.
Cary-Grove (2-1 tourney) was led by Katie Sowa's 23 points. The Trojans play Hoffman Estates at 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
Streamwood 51, Hoffman Estates 31: At Libertyville, Jenejha Williams scored 17 points to lead the Sabres to their first win in the tournament.
Hoffman Estates (0-3) got 15 points from Monraia Wilson.
Marist 54, Lake Zurich 34: At Montini, the Bears fell to 0-2 in the tournament.
Lake Zurich (7-8) will play Batavia at 8 a.m. Thursday.
