Dundee-Crown reaches Charger Classic consolation title game

Paige Gieske scored 13 points and Allison Michalski had 9 on Wednesday as the Dundee-Crown girls basketball team defeated Barrington 39-33 at D-C's Charger Classic.

The Chargers (8-8) advance to play for the consolation championship at 2 p.m. Thursday against St. Charles North.

St. Charles North 56, Buffalo Grove 44: At the Dundee-Crown Charger Classic, Elizabeth Olsem had 17 points and 10 rebounds while Anna Davern hit for 16 points to put the North Stars (6-5) into Thursday's consolation championship game against Dundee-Crown. Grace Quinn added 12 points for SCN.

Prospect 64, Burlington Central 43: Kathryn Schmidt had 22 points and 8 rebounds and Mackenzie West added 11 points for Burlington Central (7-5) in this loss at the Charger Classic.

Resurrection 59, Bartlett 50: Also at the Charger Classic, Kayla Hare had 12 points and Sarah Jurek 11 for Bartlett (4-8).

Jones Prep 70, South Elgin 68: Mackie Kelleher had 22 points andEmmy McIntosh 20 for South Elgin (10-3) at the Riverside-Brookfield tournament. Despite the loss the Storm won its pool and will play Argo at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in a semifinal.

St Joseph 48, Huntley 36: At the Montini tournament, Morgan Clausen led Huntley with 12 points. Abbey Brown added 9 and Janelle Allen had 8 for the Red Raiders (4-6).

Jacobs 50, Elk Grove 47: At Wheaton North, Carly Sidor scored 19 points and Kyra Cabuaso had 9 for Jacobs (5-7).

Streamwood 51, Hoffman Estates 31: Jenejah Williams had 17 points and Maddie Exline added 13 for Streamwood (6-7) at the Libertyville tournament.

Cary-Grove 54, Vernon Hills 38: Also at Libertyville, Katie Sowa led Cary-Grove (9-5) with 23 points.

Larkin 50, Wheeling 46: Marlee Kyles led Larkin to the win with 21 points. Haley Bohne added 10 for the Royals (7-7) while Shaunice Colen-Douglas had 8.

Queen of Peace 55, ACC 40: At the Oswego East tournament, Gina Cortino had 12 points to lead Aurora Central (9-7). Tessa Cwinski and Delani Kosner added 8 points each for the Chargers.

Harvest Christian 39, Aurora Christian 25: Alyssa Iverson's 24 points led Harvest (9-3) to the win at the Alden-Hebron tournament. Tori Henning had 10 points for Aurora Christian.

St. Edward 60, Addison Trail 37: Maddie Spagnola had 22 points and 8 steals as St. Edward (10-3) advanced to the semifinal of the Lisle Holiday Cage Classic. Yssa Sto. Domingo added 12 points and 4 steals for the Green Wave and Katie Castoro had 11 points.

Guerin 61, Westminster Christian 34: Elise VanNoord led Westminster with 10 points at the Guerin tournament. Jaks Kelty added 9 for the Warriors (4-10) and Emily Lamp had 6 rebounds.

Willowbrook 31, Elgin 25: At Wheaton North, Makenna Downing led Elgin with 10 points.

Glenbard South 48, West Aurora 46: Also at Wheaton North, Keva Thomas had 11 points and Kiyanna Rodgers added 10 for West Aurora.
