Larkin's Kyles hits for record 46 in win over Deerfield

Marlee Kyles' assault on the Larkin girls basketball record book added another chapter Thursday.

The Royals' senior standout broke her own school record, scoring 46 points as Larkin defeated Deerfield 63-47 in the first round of the Warren Christmas tournament. Kyles had previously set the record with 41 points against Addison Trail earlier this month.

Earlier this season Kyles set the Larkin girls' career record and she now stands at 1,627 career points, just 150 shy of the record at the school held by Paul Engel.

The Arizona recruit also had 14 rebounds in the win.

Brianna Young added 9 points for Larkin (6-4), which continues tournament play against Carmel on Friday.

Schaumburg Christian 50, Westminster Christian 41: Elise VanNoord had 12 points and Grace Schmitt added 10 for Westminster in this Northeastern Athletic Conference loss. Jaks Kelty added 8 points and 6 rebounds for the Warriors.
