Tylka leads Wauconda's victory

Allie Tylka scored 21 points to lead Wauconda's girls basketball team to a 51-48 nonconference win over visiting Glenbrook South on Saturday.

The Bulldogs outscored the Titans 15-9 in the second quarter to erase a 12-11 deficit and take a 26-21 advantage into halftime. Wauconda led 34-30 after three.

Hayley Redmann added 10 points for Wauconda (5-4), which played its second game in a row without injured starter Katie Rossetti (ankle).

Nazareth 51, Carmel 48: The visiting Corsairs lost their East Suburban Catholic Conference opener to fall to 6-3.

Freshmen Ranya Jamison (12 points, 3 rebounds) and Katie Lach (11 points, 4 rebounds) led Carmel.

Maine West 53, Vernon Hills 32: Sophia Lehocky had 9 points for the host Cougars in the Central Suburban North game.

Becky Bahlmann scored 6 points, and Piper Bedell collected 5 points and 7 rebounds for Vernon Hills (4-6, 2-1), which played its second game in a row without the injured Kayla Caudle.

Lake Forest 39, Warren 32: Maeve Summerville's 21 points, 10 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks led the visiting Scouts to the North Suburban Conference win.

Delaney Williams added 9 points for Lake Forest (3-1 NSC), which outscored the Blue Devils 10-4 in the second quarter to go into halftime up 20-17. The Scouts still led by three (26-23) after three.

Jordyn Hughes had 8 points for Warren, and Kaylen Dickson scored 6.
