Harrity, Grant get it going against North Chicago
Mallory Harrity scored 19 points, and Grant's girls basketball team cruised to a 70-36 win over host North Chicago in Northern Lake County Conference action Friday night.
Grant (2-7, 2-2), which picked up its second win in a row, also received 11 points from Roxanne Temple and 9 from Ameerah Muhammad. Charneice Burns had 8 points for the Bulldogs, while three players - Kennedy Kiesgen, Makiah Linbo and Keyana Linbo - each had 7.
Libertyville 69, Waukegan 29: Zi Tompkins and Maddie Spaulding each scored 12 points for the host Wildcats, who led the North Suburban game 24-2 after one quarter and 47-7 at halftime.
Claire Keefe added 10 points and Riley Weis had 9 for Libertyville (4-5, 2-2).
Stevenson 39, Mundelein 25: Ashley Richardson scored 18 points and Klaire Steffens had 11 to help keep the visiting Patriots unbeaten in North Suburban Conference play.
The host Mustangs held a 9-6 lead after the first quarter and it was tied at 15 at the half - but Stevenson (7-2, 4-0) held Mundelein (3-6, 1-3) to 10 total points in the second half.
Sarah Ouimet led the Mustangs with 10 points.
Antioch 56, Round Lake 30: The visiting Sequoits managed to hold the Panthers to 3 points in both the first and second quarters on their way to a decisive Northern Lake County Conference victory.
Ashley Reiser made three 3s and finished with a game-high 17 points on 7-for-9 shooting from the field for Antioch (7-2, 3-1). She also contributed 4 assists and 3 steals. Amy Reiser had 15 points to go with a team-high 6 rebounds and 5 steals.
Junior forward Hannah Brooks led Round Lake (1-6, 1-3) with 10 points.
