Barrington remains unbeaten

Barrington's boys basketball team wrapped up a perfect run through Crystal Lake Central's tournament by handling Huntley 60-40 on Saturday afternoon.

That completes a 4-0 effort for the Broncos. Three of their victories were decided by at least 18 points, with a 3-point game against McHenry the closest call.

Against Huntley (1-3), Blake Gosswein scored 9 of his team-high 16 points in the third quarter, during which the Broncos outscored the Red Raiders 20-2.

Anthony Spann (11 points) and Miles Lester (10) also scored in double figures for Barrington, which begins Mid-Suburban West play Friday at Hoffman Estates (7:30 p.m.).

Schaumburg 57, Metea Valley 51: The Saxons squared their tournament record at St. Charles at 2-2, as Kameron Powell (16 points), Hezekiah Trotter (15) and Michael Hodges (12) accounted for the bulk of Schaumburg's scoring.

The Saxons made 21 of 40 shots from the field and held the Mustangs (1-3) to 2-for-18 from 3-point range.

Ridgewood 68, Wheeling 41: TJ Best scored 10 points, but Wheeling (1-3) gave up 39 points in the first half on the way to dropping its Battle for the Ridge finale.
