Kaneland, South Elgin, Geneva post wins

Jenni Weber scored 21 points as Kaneland's girls basketball team opened its season with a 60-38 win over Nazareth Saturday at the IC Catholic tournament.

Morgan Weber added 12 points for the Knights and Grace Ringel had 10.

South Elgin 60, CL South 47: Grace Franks and Teagan Pompa had 15 points each to lead the Storm to a win at the Dundee-Crown tournament. Kennedy Wells and Emmy McIntosh added 9 points each for South Elgin (3-0). Lauren Schoen had 13 points and Taylor Keegan 12 for Crystal Lake South (0-3).

Geneva 70, T.F. North 28: Lindsay Blackmore's 14 points helped Geneva win its season opener at the Rachel Bach Tournament at Glenbard East. Madison Mallory added 9 points for the Vikings while Grace Loberg, Margaret Whitley, Kristin Ralston and Brittany Caskey had 8 each.

Hononegah 67, Jacobs 40: At the Dundee-Crown tournament, Grace O'Malley made four 3-pointers and had 14 points for Jacobs. Carly Sidor added 8 points for the Golden Eagles.

Harvest Christian 50, Marian Central 40: Alyssa Iverson hit for 24 points and Isamar Garcia added 12 to lead the Lions (3-1) to a win in the third place game at the Harvest tournament.

Huntley 37, Palatine 30: Morgan Clausen had 15 points and Abbey Brown added 9 as Huntley (1-2) won this Dundee-Crown tournament game.

Aurora Christian 42, Indian Creek 26: Paris Chaney (15 points), Tori Henning (9 points) and Noelle Chaney (7 points, 7 rebounds) led Aurora Christian to this win in the fifth-place game of the AC/IMSA tournament.

Streamwood 57, McHenry 45: Jenejah Williams scored 23 points and Maddie Exline added 13 for the Sabres in their win at the Dundee-Crown tournament.

Boylan 56, Dundee-Crown 27: Paige Gieske led D-C with 14 points in this loss at the Chargers' tournament.

Earlville-Leland 34, Westminster Christian 15: In the championship game of the Elgin Academy tournament, Elise VanNoord (4 points, 4 rebounds) and Lily Harbaugh (4 points, 6 rebounds) led Westminster. Emily Lamp was named to the all-tournament team for the Warriors.

Lane 38, Elgin 29: At the Fenton/Addison Trail tournament, Kylie Graves had 17 points for Elgin.

St. Edward 52, Plainfield South 45: Maddy Spagnola scored 20 points and Katie Castoro added 14 to lead the Green Wave (2-1) to a win at the Hinsdale South tournament.

Hampshire 39, Lake Park 31: At the Hoffman Estates tournament, Rachel Dumoulin scored 14 points to lead Hampshire (2-1).
