Aurora Central Catholic wins Somonauk tournament
Aurora Central Catholic's girls basketball team won the championship of the Somonauk tournament Friday night, downing Seneca 60-35.
Freshman Delani Kosner led the way for the Chargers (4-0) with 14 points while Gina Cortino, Alex Johnston and Tressa Swinski added 8 points each.
It was ACC's first Somonauk title since 2011.
Batavia 72, Rockford Auburn 46: Geddy Rerko had 15 points and Kaley Lorenz added 10 to lead the Bulldogs (2-0) to a win at the Naperville Central tournament. Hailey Orman added 8 points for Batavia while Morgan Erickson and Stephanie Rodriguez had 7 each.
Aurora Christian 71, Harvard 20: At the AC/IMSA tournament, Tori Henning scored 22 points to lead the Eagles to the win. Paris Chaney and Alexandra Fry had 11 points each.
Hinsdale Central 60, St. Edward 48: Maddie Spagnola had 25 points and Katie Castoro added 11 for St. Edward (1-1) in this loss at the Hinsdale South tournament.
Boylan 65, CL South 32: Taylor Josefowicz led Crystal Lake South (0-3) with 17 points in this loss at the Dundee-Crown tournament.
Hononegah 57, Huntley 27: Morgan Clausen scored 12 points for Huntley (0-2) in its loss at the D-C tournament.
Palatine 39, Dundee-Crown 27: Allison Michalski led D-C (0-2) with 10 points.
