Frasco fires home four 3s in Prospect win

Emily Frasco tossed home four 3-pointers and finished with a team-high 18 points to help lead Prospect's girls basketball team to a 67-58 win over Wheaton St. Francis at the York Thanksgiving tournament on Friday night in Elmhurst.

The senior guard also had 6 steals and 5 rebounds as Prospect finished 2-2 in the tourney.

Junior Margherite Pettenuzzo added 14 points (1 3-pointer) and senior Mary McKenna had 10 for the Knights who also received 5 rebounds apiece from Mandy Withey and Kendra Gancarz.

Wheeling 65, Taft 42: Senior forward Melissa Claver scored 18 points and sophomore Nosa Igiehon added 15 for Wheeling which got off to a 1-0 start in the Niles North tourney.

Shannon Kennedy (2 3-pointers) added 9 points for the Wildcats (1-1 overall), who also received 3 pointers from Nansy Velev and Kourtney Schuetz.

Palatine 39, Dundee-Crown 27: Junior Sydney Rzepka scored a game-high 18 points to lead Palatine to victory at the Dundee-Crown Thanksgiving tourney.

Junior Kendra Lindell and sophomore Elena Porrata each chipped 6 and Reggie Much had 5 for the Pirates (3-0 overall).
