Outlook: A night after his Mustangs won their season opener, 39-37 over Highland Park, coach Martin Pazanin still found a positive in a 32-18 loss to Carmel on Tuesday. For the second night in a row, the Mustangs allowed fewer than 40 points. "So we're doing a good job there," Pazanin said. While the Mustangs might lack a go-to scorer, they have some offensive talent. Senior guard Rachel Tipperreiter hit five 3-pointers on Opening Night and drained two more against Carmel. Senior Kendall Wald, who's playing her fourth season on varsity, is another good shooter. Morgan Frank, the lone freshman on the roster, can shoot the ball too. Guard Kelsy Austwick is the only junior with varsity experience, but she missed a lot of last season with a separated shoulder. "We're well-improved," Pazanin said. "I envision us being much-improved at the offensive end. I think we can get well over 40 points a game, and we held a lot of opponents last year to below 40."
