Grayslake North makes history with win No. 20

Grayslake North's boys basketball team made program history Wednesday night by beating visiting Wauconda 54-43 in nonconference action.

It was the school-record 20th win for the Knights, who won 19 games in both the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons.

The victory also marked the eighth in a row for Grayslake North (20-2), which trailed 16-15 after one quarter. The Knights outscored the Bulldogs 12-6 in the second quarter to go up 27-22 and led 38-29 after three.

Jamal Thomas led Grayslake North with 21 points, and Aidan Einloth had 18.

Danny Stanley led the effort Wauconda (7-14) with 14 points along with 9 rebounds, 3 blocks and 4 steals, and Kyle Drobnik had 10 points.

McHenry 45, Lakes 32: The Eagles' road loss dropped their record to 11-13.

McHenry improved to 11-14.
