Libertyville finds winning balance against Carmel

Claire Keefe's 8 points led a balanced scoring attack, as Libertyville's girls basketball team pulled out a 38-32 win over host Carmel Catholic in a nonconference game Saturday night.

Caroline Frea and Molly Cayce added 7 points apiece for the Wildcats (14-12), who led 14-9 at halftime and 27-22 after three quarters.

Carmel (9-17) got a game-high 10 points, including three 3-pointers, from Alexa Amato. Ava Speer added 8 points for the Corsairs.

Lake Zurich 51, Grayslake Central 45: Abby Pirron and Grace Kinsey each scored 14 points, as the host Bears won the nonconference matinee.

Lake Zurich led 13-7 after one quarter, 25-20 at halftime and 39-29 after three. Vanessa DiVincenzo added 8 points for the Bears.

Amanda Larson and Kelly Moroney each scored 10 points for Grayslake Central (14-13).

Zion-Benton 67, Lake Forest 31: The host Zee-Bees won the North Suburban Lake finale to finish 10-2 in the division, a game back of first-place Stevenson.

Maeve Summerville had 13 points for Lake Forest, which finished 2-10 in the division.
