Woodstock powers past Grayslake Central

Visiting Grayslake Central couldn't overcome the 30-point second quarter it allowed to Woodstock's boys basketball team, falling 77-48 on Thursday in Fox Valley Fox Division play.

Woodstock connected on five 3s in the second quarter alone and finished with a total of 9.

Jack Beckman led the scoring for the Rams (11-10, 4-6) with 15 points and Sam Ruhlmann had 13. DeJon Goodman also hit a pair of 3s for Grayslake Central, which dropped its third straight.

Nick Kubiak led all scorers with 20 points for Woodstock.

North Chicago 63, Vernon Hills 32: The visiting Warhawks jumped out to a 20-2 lead after one quarter and were up 35-13 at halftime of the North Suburban Prairie contest.

The Warhawks improved to 9-1 in the division.

Michael Dougherty (team-high 11 points) and Tanner Tolari (10) each hit a pair of 3-pointers for Vernon Hills (12-14, 6-5), which had won two in a row.
