Stevenson scores a decisive win

Visiting Stevenson got its 15th win of the boys basketball season in breezy fashion with a 99-45 decision over Mundelein in North Suburban Lake play Wednesday.

Justin Smith led the Patriots (15-6, 5-2 NSC Lake) with 17 points and 4 assists. Willie Herenton added 16 points while Ryuji Aoki and Kevin Yang each finished with 11 points apiece.

Tom Marcotte led Mundelein (1-22, 0-7 Lake)with 23 points.

North Chicago 87, Wauconda 54: Despite 20 points from Jarod Stonis, Wauconda lost on the road to a North Chicago team that got double figures from three players and scoring from a total of 14 players.

Bryan Nee added 14 points on a pair of 3-pointers for the Bulldogs, who drop to 5-11 overall and 2-5 in the NSC Prairie Division.

North Chicago is 7-0 in the Prairie.

Grant 48, McHenry 45: Grant improved to 11-9 on the season with the nonconference victory.

The Bulldogs have won two games in a row and five of their last seven games.
