Henton helps North Chicago keep pace; Kienzle leads Grayslake Central

Simeon Henton scored a game-high 22 points, and North Chicago's boys basketball team held on for a 65-62 win over host Lakes in North Suburban Prairie Division action Friday night.

North Chicago improved to 6-0 in the NSC Prairie and remained tied for first place with Grant (6-0).

Lakes (9-9, 3-4) trailed 14-7 after one quarter, 28-21 at halftime and 44-38 after three. Michael Behrendt led the Eagles with a season-high 16 points, followed by Colton Jewell with 15.

Grayslake Central 49, Woodstock North 41: David Kienzle scored 7 of his game-high 14 points in the fourth quarter, as the visiting Rams won their fourth game in a row.

Sidney Goodman and Jack Beckman added 11 points apiece for Grayslake Central (11-7, 4-3), which led the Fox Valley Fox game just 30-29 after three quarters after being up 23-13 at halftime.

Lake Forest 51, Zion-Benton 46: Lorenzo Edwards had 27 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocked shots, as the visiting Scouts pulled off a huge win in North Suburban Lake action.

Lake Forest improved to 10-7 and 3-3 in the division, while Zion-Benton fell to 15-7 and 4-2.

Buffalo Grove 54, Wauconda 45: Jarod Stonis scored 18 points, including three 3-pointers, for the host Bulldogs (5-10) in their nonconference loss.

Buffalo Grove improved to 7-11.

Notre Dame 73, Carmel 40: Ammar Becar's 18 points led the host Dons (16-4, 2-2) in East Suburban Catholic Conference action.

Carmel fell to 9-10 and 0-4.
