Munez scores 29 as Christian Liberty falls against Keith

Brendan Munez had quite the performance, scoring a career-high 29 points as visiting Christian Liberty Academy came up short against Keith Country Day 76-68 in Northeastern Athletic boys basketball on Friday.

Munez, a 5-foot-9 junior guard canned seven 3s and the Chargers (3-14, 2-4) rallied from behind, scoring 41 points in the second half.

Jimmy Cunningham, Mark Cabrera and Jordan Pratscher scored 8 points apiece for Christian Liberty.

St. Viator 39, Lake Forest 36: St. Viator improved to 12-3 with a nonconference victory on the road against a quality opponent. Lake Forest dropped to 8-7 overall.

Morton 48, Leyden 29: Visiting Morton improved to 8-6 overall and 2-2 in the West Suburban Gold and kept Leyden (4-10, 0-4) looking for its first conference win.

Deerfield 70, Maine West 38: The Central Suburban North leaders improved to 13-3 overall and 4-1 in the league. Maine West dropped to 3-11, 1-4.
