St. Edward reaches tourney title game
St. Edward 54, Evergreen Park 34: Kelvin Cortez-Harvey scored 23 points to lead the Green Wave (8-6) into the championship game of the ICCP/Westmont tournament. Sean Phelan added 11 points and Andrew O'Neill 8 for St. Edward.
Batavia 61, Lane Tech 49: Colin Cheaney had 21 points and Canaan Coffey added 19 as the Bulldogs (7-5) got their first win in the Jack Tosh Tournament at York.
Hampshire 56, Belvidere North 54: Brennen Woods (14 points), Luke Tuttle (13) and Deion Garcia (12) led the Whip-Purs to a win in the Chuck Dayton Tournament at DeKalb. William Dumoulin pulled down 8 rebounds for Hampshire (3-8).
Genoa-Kingston 60, Kaneland 52: At the Plano Christmas Classic, Dylan Vaca had 12 points and Ryan David added 10 for Kaneland (6-3). Mark Lilly added 8 points and 8 rebounds for the Knights and Garrett Hukle had 7 rebounds.
Ottawa 54, Aurora Christian 34: Also at Plano, Jake Wolfe led Aurora Christian (8-3) with 9 points.
ACC 71, Noble DRW Prep 42: Brett Czerak had 15 points, Evan Schuetz scored 13 and Nick Faltz added 11 to lead the Chargers (4-6) to a win at the East Aurora tournament.
Payne clinic: Kent and Cully Payne will be holding a one-day skills camp on Wednesday at Harvest Christian from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Cost is $15 per player.
