Burlington Central moves to 5-0

Burlington Central 72, Byron 53: The Rockets improved to 5-0 with a dominant nonconference road win over the Tigers. Four players dipped into double digits for Central, who drained 28 field goals. Ryan Fitzgerald led the way with 17 points, while Zach Schutta chipped in 13. TaVontae Harris and Luke McCurdy each had 10.

Huntley 55, CL Central 41: JJ Flores scored 21 points to lead the Red Raiders (2-2) to a Fox Valley Conference crossover win over the Tigers. Olalere Oladipo added 9 while Matt Seng had 8 points as Huntley sank 10 of its 15 free throw attempts.

Aurora Christian 77, Harvest Christian 50: At the Burney Wilke Classic, the Eagles (1-0) notched a season-opening win over the Lions (1-4) behind 12 points from Jake Wolfe and 11 from RD Lutze.

Prairie Ridge 61, CL South 43: In FVC crossover action, the Gators (3-2) dropped their second-straight despite Zach Geske's 17 points. South couldn't stop Chris Bradshaw, who scored all of his 22 points in the first half.

Schaumburg Christian 50, Elgin Academy 40: In nonconference action, the Hilltoppers (0-1) received 19 points from Dee Robinson but were unable to come up with a win in their season debut. Jonathan Cruz chipped in 9 points and Elliott Wittmeyer added 8.
