Frea, Keefe pace Libertyville; Drake's 22 power Grant

Libertyville junior Carol Frea scored 12 points and teammate Claire Keefe had 8 along with 10 rebounds to help the Wildcats past Mundelein's girls basketball team 36-28 on Tuesday in North Suburban Lake play.

Mundelein, which led 16-15 after the first quarter but was held to 2 points in the second, got 12 points from senior forward Caity Pielko and 10 from senior forward Madison Davis. The Mustangs finished 7-for-7 at the free throw line behind their efforts.

Erin Dunleavy and Maggie O'Sullivan both hit a 3 for the Wildcats.

Grant 49, Round Lake 32: Taylor Drake scored 22 points to lead the Bulldogs in the North Suburban Prairie opener.

Grant also received 8 points from Jasmine Sangster and seven from McKaylie Krey.

Round Lake (0-5) was led by Miyah Johnson's 13 points.

Wauconda 49, Crystal Lake Central 35: Wauconda used a 14-2 first quarter to take control.

Katie Rossetti led the Bulldogs with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 steals. Wauconda also got 8 points apiece out of Hayley Redmann and Mallory Carver.
