St. Edward wins at Quincy

St. Edward's girls basketball team held off a late run by Quincy Friday night to down the Blue Devils 41-35 at the Quincy Thanksgiving tournament.

Katelyn Castoro led the Green Wave (2-0) with 13 points, while Madelyn Spagnola added 12 and Yssa Sto. Domingo had 11.

St. Edward will play Danville Saturday morning before taking on Quincy again Saturday evening.

West Aurora 45, Riverside-Brookfield 37: The Blackhawks (2-2) evened their record behind 11 points and 8 rebounds from Carley Frauenhoff, Kiyanna Rodgers with 9 points and 7 steals, and Ashley Williams with 9 points and 11 rebounds. JeMya McClendon added 11 rebounds, and Kayla Battle pulled down 10.

Wheaton Warrenville South 44, St. Charles East 34: The Saints (0-5) lost at the Schaumburg Tournament despite 13 points from Sara Rosenfeldt, 8 by Hannah Vitkus and 6 from Kelly Rinker.
