St. Charles North stays unbeaten

Morgan Rosencrants hit for 18 points and Claire Jakaitis added 12 to lead St. Charles North's girls basketball team to a 63-51 win over Pontiac Saturday at the Pontiac tournament.

Samantha Sample contributed 10 points to the win for SCN.

The North Stars (3-0) were to have played Washington for the championship but that game was canceled as Washington was unable to travel due to the snowstorm.

Rockford East 74, Harvest Christian 43: Alyssa Iverson scored 18 points and Paulina Castro added 16 for the Lions but they fell to Rockford East in the championship game of the Harvest Christian tournament. Rachel Oostdyk added 7 points for Harvest (3-1).

Indian Creek 49, Aurora Christian 34: Kirsten Madsen led the Eagles (3-1) with 17 points but AC fell in the championship game of the IMSA/Aurora Christian tournament. Freshman Tori Henning added 9 points for Aurora Christian.

South Elgin 45, CL South 35: Bridgette Williams scored 10 points, Nadia Yang had 8 and Kennedy Wells added 7 to lead the Storm (2-1) to a win at the Dundee-Crown tournament. Taylor Josefowicz had 12 points for Crystal Lake South (1-3). Annika Sevcik added 11 for the Gators and Chanel Fanter had 9.

Boylan 58, St. Charles East 30: Sara Rosenfeldt led the Saints (0-3) with 12 points in this Schaumburg tournament loss. Hannah Vitkus added 8 points for the SCE.

Rockford Jefferson 55, Westminster Christian 43: Maddie Versluys had 22 points, 15 rebounds and 7 steals for Westminster (1-3) at the Harvest Christian tournament. Tess Anderson added 9 points and Elise VanNoord had 7 points and 4 rebounds for the Warriors.

Rosary 54, Timothy Christian 27: Jenna Hernandez had 13 points to lead Rosary (2-2) to a win at the IMSA/Aurora Christian tournament.

Rolling Meadows 72, Cary-Grove 44: Bailey Steinkamp and Olivia Miller each had 8 points for Cary-Grove (0-3) at the Lake Zurich tournament. Vanessa Morris added 7 points for the Trojans.

Prairie Ridge 53, Larkin 43: At the Burlington Central tournament, Marlee Kyles had 24 points and Sam Wahl added 9 for Larkin (1-3). Haley Bohne pulled down 7 rebounds for the Royals.

Kaneland 67, Luther North 29: Bailey Crimmins scored 16 points and Morgan Weber added 13 to lead the Knights to a win in their season-opener at the IC Catholic tournament. Kylie Modaff added 9 points for Kaneland and Madi Edwards had 6 rebounds.

Leyden 52, Elgin 42: Alisha Panthier had 14 points and Lakiya Harvey added 13 for Elgin (1-3) in this loss at the Fenton/Addison Trail tournament. Kylie Graves added 7 points for the Maroons.

Lake Park 51, Hampshire 48: At the Hoffman Estates tournament, Emma Benoit (16 points), Rachel Dumoulin (12) and Nikki Dumoulin (10) led Hampshire (2-2).

Canceled games: Due to the inclement weather, Burlington Central's game against Belvidere North at the Rockets' tournament was canceled. BC will play Harlem Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. for the tournament championship. Also canceled Saturday was Jacobs' game against Hononegah at the Dundee-Crown tournament.
