Stars lining up for senior shootout in Lake County

Lake County's basketball stars are set to be showcased again.

The sixth annual Lake County Senior Shootout High School All Star Basketball Game will take place on Friday April 3 on the campus of College of Lake County in Grayslake.

The game consists of the top high school senior boys and girls players in Lake County.

"Six years, and this event is still going strong." said co-coordinator Fred Fleming. "Time has definitely flown by, we have some alumni married with children and others completing their degrees while continuing to play basketball at the collegiate level. I must say I am very proud of our Lake County basketball players."

Fleming said the event will pay tribute to alumni players who are deceased.

"They are and will always be a part of the Lake County Senior Shootout and the Lake County Basketball community," he said. "So we want to definitely pay homage to them."

Fleming is anticipating another great co-ed 3-point and slam dunk competitions.

"We have a lot of great shooters and dunkers in this years class," he said. "My partner (Dwayne Springs) and I are proud to sponsor this game every year and look forward to providing great entertainment to the Lake County Community."

Rosters for the game will be released soon.
