Boys basketball: Lake County roundup

Libertyville's boys basketball team got its offense rolling on Monday in a Class 4A regional win over Waukegan at Notre Dame.

The Wildcats, up 31-13 at the end of the first quarter, got 20 points from Paul Steinhaus, 17 points from Jake Mansfield and 12 points from Joe Borcia in a 77-57 victory.

The No. 13-seeded Wildcats advance to a 7 p.m. Tuesday matchup at No. 4 seed Notre Dame.

Grayslake Central 55, McHenry 47: Grayslake Central advances with a Class 4A regional win at Cary-Grove. The Rams will take on third-seeded Palatine on Wednesday.

Cary-Grove 55, Round Lake 41: In the Class 4A regional at Cary-Grove, the host Trojans advanced with a win over Round Lake. The Panthers, who were down 19-6 at the end of the first quarter, got 16 points from Austin Soto and 15 points from Michael Green.

Glenbrook South 70, Carmel 60: Carmel's season came to an end in a Class 4A regional at Mundelein.

New Trier 61, Mundelein 40: Mundelein's season came to an end in a Class 4A regional game on its own floor.
