Harvest Christian's Castro all-state
Harvest Christian junior Paulina Castro was named Class 1A first team all-state Thursday by the Associated Press.
The team is voted on by a statewide panel of sports writers and broadcasters and Castro received the second most votes of all Class 1A players nominated.
Castro, a 5-foot-6 guard who transferred from Montini, led the Lions to a 25-7 season and a berth in the Class 1A Elite Eight.
She averaged over 21 points per game and made over 115 3-pointers in leading Harvest Christian to its best season in the five-year history of the program.
Lions' senior Kylee Knox was named honorable mention, as was Westminster Christian junior Maddie Versluys in Class 2A.
