Lindfors, Elk Grove handle Plainfield South

Elk Grove finished its girls basketball regular season with a 52-36 nonconference win at Plainfield South on Friday night.

The Grenadiers, who held the home team to 14 points in the second half, were led on offense by Southeast Missouri State recruit Amber Lindfors. The 6-foot-4 senior center scored a game-high 18 points, converting 7 field goals and 4-of-4 free throws.

Right behind was 6-foot classmate O'Rayn Macavoy, who netted 17 points, including 8 field goals.

Next up for Grens (8-19) is a Class 4A regional play-in game on Monday night in Addison.

The No. 16-seeded Grenadiers will face No. 20 Addison Trail at 7 p.m. at Addison Trail High School.
