Boys basketball / Lake County roundup

James Mobley scored a game-high 20 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, and Grant's boys basketball team outlasted visiting Antioch 67-65 in overtime Friday night.

Grant improved to 3-22 and 2-9 in the North Suburban Prairie Division. Jason Kaye (16 points), Andy Kaye (12) and Ben Kusiak (10) also scored in double figures for the Bulldogs.

Antioch received 15 points from Danny Brito and 11 from Jack Kovach, each of whom hit two 3-pointers. Matt Powers had 9 points for the Sequoits.

Vernon Hills 81, Round Lake 27: Coupled with Lakes' loss to Wauconda, the Cougars clinched a share of the North Suburban Prairie title.

Robby Nardini had 17 points (three 3-pointers), 5 assists and 5 steals for Vernon Hills (23-3, 10-0), which hosts Lakes on Wednesday. The Cougars, who led 20-2 after one quarter and 41-8 at halftime, also received 13 points (four 3s) from Sam Rattner and 10 from Bo Manso.

Ben Kuligoski led Round Lake with 13 points.
