Stevenson senior forward Sophia Way has earned Daily Herald girls basketball MVP honors for her recent performances.

Sophia Way, Stevenson: She led the way. Way, a four-year varsity forward, took over in back-to-back games against the teams directly behind the Patriots in the North Suburban Lake Division standings. First, she scored a career-high 25 points in a 64-45 win over Libertyville, then followed up with 18 points on senior night as the Patriots topped Lake Forest 84-56.

Natasha Brown, Aurora Christian: The senior rebounding machine, who went over 1,000 career boards earlier this season, helped the Eagles go 2-0 to cap their regular season at 18-8. Brown started with a team-high 16 points in a win over IMSA and followed with 14 points and 20 rebounds against Westminster Christian.

Nireet Dhillon, Conant: Dhillon made 4 key free throws late in the final quarter to help Conant hold off visiting Schaumburg 52-47 in MSL West play. It capped off a solid all-around game in which the 5-foot-8 junior guard collected 15 points, 5 steals, 3 assists and 3 rebounds in the Cougars' 20th win of the season.

Sarah Mogensen, Lisle: The 5-foot-8 senior forward helped the Lions clinch a share of the Interstate Eight Conference championship, scoring 37 points and grabbing 31 rebounds in three victories, including a nonconference win against Timothy Christian. Mogensen made 54 percent of her shots from the floor in those three games.

Carly Sidor, Jacobs: The Golden Eagles' 5-foot-7 sophomore helped her team to two wins last week as Jacobs defeated Cary-Grove and Libertyville. In a 65-59 overtime win against Cary-Grove she had 21 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals and hit the game-tying 15-footer to send the game to OT. Then against Libertyville, in a game played at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Sidor had 14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in a 40-29 victory.
