Vernon Hills adds record season
Robby Nardini had 19 points (three 3-pointers) and 4 steals, and Bo Manso dished out 16 assists, as Vernon Hills' boys basketball added to its school-record win total by cruising past visiting Chicagoland Jewish 87-23 in a nonconference game Tuesday night.
Vernon Hills (22-3) also received 16 points, including four 3-pointers, from Sam Rattner. Lem Turner had 9 points and 3 blocked shots, and Matt Weaver also scored 9 points. Cory Levin and Jacob Helfand contributed 8 points apiece.
The Cougars were coming off their school-record 21st win Saturday night against Wauconda.
Warren 52, Antioch 47: Maurice Chambers scored a game-high 17 points, as the Blue Devils won the North Suburban crossover.
Jake Falish (three 3-pointers) and Jovan Jokic (four 3s) contributed 15 and 14 points, respectively, for Warren (10-13).
Danny Brito paced Antioch with 11 points.
Zion-Benton 89, Grayslake Central 75: Admiral Schofield scored 29 points to lead the visiting Zee-Bees in the nonconference game.
Sam Ruhlmann had 20 points for Grayslake Central (10-10), which also got 17 points from Joey Mudd, 12 from Jack Beckman and 11 from David Llorens. Michael Benko chipped in 9 points for the Rams.
Cary-Grove 68, Mundelein 46: The Mustangs (2-24) lost the nonconference game, despite 10 points apiece from Malik Doby and Isaiah Woolford.
