Naperville Central clinches DVC
Cierra Stanciel's basket with six seconds remaining gave Naperville Central a 54-52 girls basketball victory at Lake Park on Saturday.
Combined with Naperville North's victory against Wheaton North, the Redhawks (14-14, 7-2) clinched the DuPage Valley Conference girls basketball championship outright. It is the 14th time the Redhawks have won at least a share of the title in 27 years.
Stanciel finished with 17 points, 6 steals and 5 assists. Teammate Haley Minick added 13 points, 13 rebounds and 2 blocked shots.
Erica Fant led Lake Park with 18 points, 5 steals and 4 assists. Maria Zepeda added 16 points and 9 rebounds.
