Girls basketball: Fox Valley roundup Friday, Feb. 6

Burlington Central 79, Genoa-Kingston 32: The Rockets (22-3, 12-0) breezed past the Cogs with 11 3-pointers while 5 players scored in double figures in Central's 36th straight Big Northern East win and eighth straight overall. Sam Pryor led the way with 14 points while Kayla Ross, Aly DeTamble and Becca Gerke each poured in 13 points. Pryor is now 11 points shy of 1,000 for her career. The Rockets, who clinched at least a share of their third straight BN-East title, host Richmond-Burton Monday night.

St. Edward 45, Rosary 24: The Green Wave (17-9) took this nonconference matchup as Cece Rapp led all scorers with 16 points while Katelyn Castoro added 10. Ryann Scully scored 8 points and Casey Gredzielski had 1 point but 11 rebounds.

Streamwood 74, St. Charles East 57: Cayla Hawkins scored 23 points and Jenejha Williams posted 18 points along with 15 rebounds as the Sabres surprised the Saints in the Upstate Eight River. Julia Ramirez also added 13 points for the Sabres (8-17, 5-8).

Batavia 69, Larkin 39: The Royals (6-17, 2-8) dropped their fourth-straight in UEC River action despite 19 points from Marlee Kyles. Quixmia Washington added 11.
