Crystal Lake South's Fanter reaches 1,000

Crystal Lake South junior Chanel Fanter joined the 1,000-point club Thursday night despite her team losing a nonconference game at Sycamore.

Fanter scored 16 points in the Gators' 40-33 loss to the 23-2 Spartans and now has 1,009 points for her career.

Kianna Clark added 10 points and 13 rebounds for South (17-7).

St. Charles East 67, Elgin 35: Destiny West scored 20 points and Alisha Panthier added 9 for Elgin (4-20, 0-12) in its Upstate Eight River loss.

Harvest Christian 58, Willows Academy 33: Paulina Castro had 31 points and Kylee Knox 11 for the Lions (21-6) in a nonconference win.

Aurora Christian 51, Westminster Christian 32: Elise VanNoord scored 12 points to lead the Warriors (10-16) in a nonconference loss. Maddie Versluys added 8 points and 14 rebounds and Jaks Kelty had 8 points for Westminster.
