Stevenson still perfect in Lake

Sophia Way scored a season-high 25 points, Taylor Buford tallied the 1,000th point of her career, and Stevenson's girls basketball team beat host Libertyville 64-45 Tuesday night.

Stevenson improved to 24-3 and 11-0 in the North Suburban Lake Division.

Buford finished with 14 points, while Ashley Richardson added 13, as the Patriots captured their sixth win in a row.

Becky Deichl scored 14 points for Libertyville (14-9, 6-4). Riley Weis and Molly Cayce had 9 and 8, respectively.

"Stevenson is an excellent shooting team," Wildcats coach Greg Pedersen said. "It's hard to match up with them."

Vernon Hills 56, Lakes 41: Mia Polisky scored 13 points to lead the host Cougars to the North Suburban Prairie win.

Katie Brettmann and Haley Lieberman each had 10 points for Vernon Hills (18-6, 7-4).
